"No thanks, we can handle it," I smiled back at her and ruffled Bean's hair.
A moment later, she looked up at me again and asked, "So how far do you have to go?"
I was puzzled. "To our car?"
She immediately made an oops face. "I'm sorry... are you not..." and she glanced down at my tummy.
Realization dawned on me. "OH! Oh, yes, I am pregnant. You are the first person who has noticed. I am not due until April. But it's twins, so...."
She congratulated me excitedly and we chatted about the craziness of having three small children at home. (As a side note, she did NOT ask me if twins run in my family, so she is officially my new BFF.)
Then today, as the hair stylist at the kids cuts place was trying in vain to hide Bean's horrific cowlick situation, she asked when I was due.
So I guess it's official: I look pregnant.
Which is good news, because 1) I am pregnant and 2) I thought I just looked fat.
So in response to hints from my mom and outright requests from my friend Al, here is the unveiling of my preggo belly. (I apologize that it's blury. DH was out of town and it took me 20 damn minutes to get a picture that looked even this good.)
Remember that I am about 11 1/2 weeks. Which means I SHOULDN'T REALLY BE SHOWING AT ALL. Yes, there are two bebes in there, and yes it is my second pregnancy. But dude, seriously that's ridiculous.
I didn't take weekly belly pics when I was pregnant with Bean, but I looked through my old files to try to match up bump sizes. I think I'm somewhere between 15 wk 2 d...
...and 18 wk 3 d.

Cute, cute, cute! I hated that "is she or isn't she" stage. So nice to just look pregnant.
Yep, you definitely look pregnant!
One of my best friends announced their pregnancy at 4 months. They didn't tell anyone. I had noticed she had gained weight in her tummy, but I just chalked it up to newleywed weight gain! :)
You are beautiful!!! That's nice that the checker offered to help you.
You most definitely look early-pregnant and not fat!
Congrats on showing.
Wow, yaeh that's not fat belly, that's preggo belly. So much for keeping it a secret until the second trimester! Still, in some ways does it feel reassuring?
You look adorable. That's funny...I've never even thought to ask someone whose pregnant with twins if they run in her family. Most of the time these days I assume it's a fertility thing, unless the person is really young. Most of the time I bore them with the story of how when I was a teen, I wanted to have a twin sis who looked just like me because I loved the show Double Trouble!
Opening to Double Trouble (the twins' sister was Peg Bundy on Married With Children):

SO SO CUTE!!!! WOW 11 weeks and already showing! that is just a beautiful sight!
You're adorable.
And I'm all about the headless Christine pics, as you're already too aware.
You look great! And i don't have 2 babies in the belly but was definitely showing this time at 11ish weeks! On the upside, you get to wear the comfy maternity clothes for a longer time! ;-)
Al says, "Thank you!"
LOLOL...your 15 wk belly with Bean is already equal to 11 wk belly with the sweetpeas!!!
But don't worry about the showing part! I am sure you look lovely!
Take Care!
You look gorgeous, what a cute belly. The end picture did make me a bit nervous when I thought of two. There are some gently used maternity stores near here if you ever want to know their location.
Oh, I love the pics! It is great that you look pregnant now (since, you know, you are).
You look like you did really well when pregnant with Bean, you were quite big, but all belly (as oppossed to me who was all thighs and butt).
I had to laugh at the checker's question - I'm sure I would have have been as confused as you were. I wonder what the checker would have thought if you answered, "Oh, about 75 yards."
and yay for baby bellies!
It is seriously insane how much more you are showing than you were a week ago. I wish I had such a cute belly. I'm going to be stuck in the just looking fat stage for a while. *sigh*
I mean a month ago when I last saw you not a week ago. Jeez.
ha ha - I bet that girl had a really horrible moment when she thought that she might have been very rude!!
Like I did last year when I asked a friend when her baby was due!!! (my only excuse is that I hadn't seen her for years and years!!)
Thank you for your comments!!! I have to say that I swear my belly is bigger even though we are exactly the same in terms of weeks pg. :) And, promise that you WILL get help out from here on out. I always decline too, but my friend made me swear to accept help if it was offered and so I did. It's kind of nice. :)
Hope you are enjoying our fall weather! Love the turning leaves...
ps...just gave you a blog award!
Dude. *I* look like that!! And I am not pregnant. Period.
You look great. And yes, I was gargantuan with the twin pregnancy compared with my singleton. I didn't even tell my manager at work I was pregnant with daughter until I was 17 weeks along because I was hardly showing. That was NOT the case with the twins.
Yay! You look great! :)
LMAO @ "to our car"!!!
Could you be more dense?!?! hahaha
You look positively adorable with that belly, but... where were the obligatory pics of Bean?
Actually I just realized, there were pics of Bean! He was just still in utero!! LOL!!!
